Moving to Australia is something that many people dream of and for good reason. For those who live in wet or cold climates then one of the biggest draws will of course be the amazing climate and warm weather that you can experience in Australia. This warm weather then promises a future full of relaxing in the garden, going on great walks, visiting the beach and getting a great tan – not to mention the fact that it's great for your health.
Other people will be attracted to Australia for the great way of life. Partly this is a result no doubt of the weather, but it's also filled with friendly and relaxed people. The sayings to come out of Australia are 'no worries mate' and 'g'day', both of which suggest a highly relaxed and friendly vibe. If you are moving from the US or the UK then you can expect to work fewer hours and to have friendly evenings where you meet new people quickly.
Others love the scenery in Australia and it is incredibly versatile and varied with mountain regions, beach and greenery. The cities too are great providing all of the amenities you need to enjoy yourself and to live a relaxed and comfortable lifestyle, while also catering for many fun nights out. Wherever you are in Australia you will easily be able to reach any of these kinds of scenery.
Other people are attracted by the wildlife, and if you do like animals then nowhere will you see a more varied and unusual selection of creatures from kangaroos to alligators (hopefully from a distance). It's also of course a massive bonus from those moving from the US or UK that everyone already speaks the same language meaning that it's easier to get by, to find employment and to make new friends.
For those choosing a part of Australia to move to, or moving within the country, then Phillip Island should be on the top of anyone's lists. Located around 140km from Melbourne (making it a short jump to the capital which is highly practical), it is an island around 10,000 hectares in size and separated by the shallow waters of the Western port. It is visited by 3.5 million tourists a year and this is not for no reason as the island has a great climate and fantastic wildlife including koalas and tasmanian devils. For animal lovers the Wild Life Park is a great place which houses over 300 animals – mostly native to Australia.
For towns and amenities there are plenty of nearby urban areas on and around the moutnain including Beachcomber, Cape Woolami, Cowes, Rhyll, Sunderland Bay, Sunset Strip, Wimbledon Heights and more. And for motorsport fans it is also a great place to live as it is steeped in history and homes the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
But regardless of great climate, activities and wildlife – who wouldn't want to move away to a tropical island in Australia and to enjoy the relaxed lifestyle that comes with it?
One thing to remember when moving to
phillip island is that it gets very busy during peak times. This is due to the wide variety of
phillip island activities each year, such as the grand prix.
